I saw that bike at the San Diego Swap Meet last Sunday. It was for sale or on display. I believe that is a Spence Wolf conversion of the NR rear mech. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
That is the Spence Wolf 'Alpine Conversion', one of the many, early innovations from the founder of Cupertino Cycles. Spence was one of the first to bring in Cinelli, Singer and other greats. When he used to show up at our warehouse to purchase Campy parts, he insisted on opening each box to cherry pick the hubs based on how well the spoke holes were countersunk.
